Best song of the movie, what do you think?

Rupa Dore on Wednesday, October 21, 2009
This is a very rare one , Hemantt kumar singing fro Shammi Kapoor ! What a
beauty ! Thanks a lot !

nickkohri on Saturday, February 27, 2010
@lieberso I think that this is a second-rate copy of the Western tune Petite Fleur! Listen to the versions by Deuter or by Billy Vaughn. THEN let me know what YOU think!

nickkohri on Saturday, February 27, 2010
@yogaisgoogygoogy A beauty? Just a poor copy of the tune Petite Fleur.Listen to versions by Deuter or by Billy Vaughn. THOSE are a beauty.

Rupa Dore on Saturday, February 27, 2010
Can you get it for us please ? Thanks immmensely ! I had no idea !

lieberso on Sunday, February 28, 2010
Thanky for your answer. In the meantime I found the origin of this song by
myself. It's indeed Petite Fleur. But I think one shouldn'dt judge this and
many other hindi movies as thiefes of western culture or something. They
have their own culture and none is better than the other. And in those old
movies Shammi Kapoor plus Mohammed Rafi and many others did very good jobs.
I love those movies, they touch my heart. To my backround: I'm german,
speak no hindi, I like the USA and I like India, too.

Please go to YouTube and enter "Petite Fleur by Billy Vaughn" or "Petite Fleur by Deuter" and listen to the original melodious tune.

Bitte schön mein Herr! Sie richtig gesagt haben! Es gibt keine "beste" Kultur. Bis bald!

There are innumerable songs which have been borrowed from across the world - what's important is how the original has been converted. This song is a classic as far as Hemant Kumar's singing goes, there is no better singer than him in the world, and what you're listening to is a masterpiece, nothing less. So you can debate on the originality issue till the cows come home, but if you don't like this version, it may be that you're not really a fan of Hindi Music or you don't like Hemant!

@lieberso: I am reading your comment two years after you wrote it and I
hope you will read what I am saying here. You are so right. The different
cultures of the world can learn so much from one another instead of looking
at each other with suspicion and worse, slaughtering each other! With this,
remember you have just made a friend from India!

lieberso on Thursday, March 15, 2012
@MayaKersi Thank you very much for your friendly and wise comment. I
appreciate to have a friend in India now :-)

Kersi Maya Mistry on Thursday, March 15, 2012
Thank you, Lieberso. I knew you would respond to my message even if it took
you another two years to read it. Be well, friend.

I scrolled down to comment and the video went out of the screen and it is a
superb Hemant kumar song.. then I scrolled up to 'watch' the song and
somewhere deep inside I cant really accept.. someone saying, this song
should have gone to Rafi sahab.
haha

Faiz Ahmed Faiz on Tuesday, July 14, 2015
This film also had Mukesh singing for Shammi Kapoor. ... I wonder how
Shammi allowed that really. Was this film made long ago and released much
later?

only rafi voice suet to shammi

SUDIPTA MUNSI on Tuesday, December 08, 2015
may be rafi sahab was best suited as shammiji's voice; but this particular
song suits Hemant Kumar's voice the best...
