When I recorded this song in 1983, I knew that it was going to become a
legendary song. I liked the composition by Vanraj Bhatia so much that I
decided to have it dubbed by Asha Bhosle and create a female version of the
song. But the legend goes that whenever Kishore Da sang a song with a
parallel version whether by a male singer or a female singer, it was the
Kishore Kumar version that became more famous. I guess the same has
