Lyrics: In the sands of River Yamuna Krishna ( shyam rai koliya) plays the flute in what a elegant way! oh the Lord your untied hairs ! Krishna plays the flute under Kodom tree!! Oh Shyam (Krishna) where will u escape today? In the sands of Yamuna under a kodom tree you will be tied round and round! Where will you escape! (Because Krishna is not for a particular one Gopi. Everyone wants him) Krishna plays the flute and Gopis are mesmerised by its tune in Brindavan. (Its a Assamese folk song)

Been listening to Papon ever since I found him on Coke Studio an hour back and concluded that this dude is fantastic. Glad to see Assamese fused here. Have been addicted to Rajasthani fusion of late and this took me quite by surprise. Super sweet sounding language a word of which I don't understand. More power to you dude.I wish you nothing but the best.

You are quite right. I'm afraid my reference to Indian Ocean missed the mark. I didn't mean (as people seem to interpret it) that Papon should sound like Indian Ocean; but sadly, my comment became self-defeating because of this example. But as it seems to be the case, my approach to appreciating a piece of music is different from you.

Vikram Vivekanand on Saturday, October 20, 2012
Well, if Indian Ocean would have played this song, maybe it would have sounded different. This is Papon's interpretation of this song. That's why you have Indian Ocean, and you have Papon. I'm just saying that different people have different approaches to art. There are no rules to being 'more creative and innovative'.

MrPKDindia on Sunday, September 16, 2012
The fusion could have been more creative and innovative (like Indian Ocean). The original tune is so catchy that is hardly need such heavy metallic sounds. However, praiseworthy endeavor. But for God's sake, what did that female singer tried to convey through her ludicrous body-language?

chaliya Papon da...always appreciate your efforts.just love the way you work. You are a non-commercial singer who values quality more than quantity..just awesome work by the whole East India company and other artists...Hat's off to all the members associated with the track.

this is the best coke stuido single of any I have heard. absolute beauty. the rahman ones are over rated. then there is the usual high viewership sufi cliche. Pappon has an awesome voice. and my god love Sugandha's smoky huskyvoice.

Nomita Chakravorty on Friday, April 26, 2013
please please "Tokari" dont die on me. Thanks for resuscitating Papon.. May Tokari live on and beat in our hearts.

if our folk songs are re-composed and sung in this fashion, then we all will forget western songs & music !
