Lyrics of Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo, Zara Aankh Me Bharlo Paani - ऐ मेरे वतन के लोगो, ज़रा आँख में भर लो पानी

ae mere watan ke logo, tum khub laga lo nara
ye shubh din hai ham sabka, lahra lo tiraga pyara
par mat bhulo seema par, viro ne hai pran ganvaye
kuchh yad unhe bhi kar lo, kuchh yad unhe bhi kar lo
jo laut ke ghar na aaye, jo laut ke ghar na aye

ae mere watan ke logo, zara ankh me bhar lo pani
jo shahid huye hai unki, zara yad karo qurbani
ae mere watan ke logo, zara ankh me bhar lo pani
jo shahid huye hai unki, zara yad karo qurbani
tum bhul na jao unko, ishliye suno ye kahani
jo shahid hue hai unki, zara yad karo qurbani

jab ghayal hua himalay, khatare me padi azadi
jab tak thi sans lade vo,
jab tak thi sans lade vo, phir apani lash bichha di
sagin pe dhar kar matha, so gaye amar balidani
jo shahid huye hai unki, zara yad karo qurbani

jab desh me thi divali, vo khel rahe the holi
jab ham baithe the gharo me, vo jhel rahe the goli
the dhanya javan vo apne, thi dhanya vo unki javani
jo shahid hue hai unki, zara yad karo qurbani

koi sikh koi jat maratha, koi sikh koi jat maratha
koi gurkha koi madrasi, koi gurkha koi madrasi
sarahad pe maranevala,
sarahad pe maranevala, har vir tha bharatvasi
jo khun gira parvat par, wo khun tha hidustani
jo shahid hue hai unki, zara yad karo qurbani

thi khun se lath-path kaya, phir bhi banduk uthake
das-das ko ek ne mara, phir gir gaye hosh ganva ke
jab ant-samay aya to
jab ant-samay aya to, kah gaye ke ab marate hai
khush rahna desh ke pyaro
khush rahna desh ke pyaro, ab ham to safar karte hai
ab ham to safar karte hai
kya log the vo divane, kya log the vo abhimani
jo shahid hue hai unki, zara yad karo qurbani

tum bhul na jao unko, ishliye kahi ye kahani
jo shahid hue hai unki, zara yad karo qurbani
jai hind jai hind ki sena
jai hind jai hind ki sena
jai hind, jai hind, jai hind

Inspired by the epic battle called the ‘last stand’ when every soldier
fought to his last breath was led by the legendary Major Shaitan Singh
Bhati (IC 7990) of Jodhpur Rajasthan. 114 brave men of the 13th Kumaon
Regiment’s Charlie company made the supreme sacrifice fighting the invading
Chinese at Rezang La pass at 16000 feet near Chushul.

109 of the 123 Jawans (soldiers) were killed. Of the 14 survivors, nine
were seriously wounded. Almost everyone had fought to the last round and
killed many more enemy soldiers. One estimate of Chinese casualties is
close to 500 killed and wounded. 'dus dus ko ek ne mara ' is actually true
and not poets imagination.

“When Rezang La was later revisited dead Jawans were found in the trenches
still holding on to their weapons ... every single man of this company was
found dead in his trench with several bullet or splinter wounds. The 2-inch
mortar man died with a bomb still in his hand''

We often refer to India’s ‘humiliating defeat’ at Chinese hands and forget
that the Jawan of the Indian Army invariably fought with exceptional
bravery and valour in the most trying conditions often without winter
clothing and in some cases even ' without adequate ammunition.'

Friends do listen to this poem as many times as you can AND do visit :
http://www.idsa.in/ to read about the battle which insired this song.

Sad some of those who cried when listening to Lata's soulful rendition on
27 Jan 1963 were directly or indirectly responsible for the inadequacies of
Indian Army. Hats of to Kavi Pradeep for effectively protraying the
feelings Common Indians have for those Shahids. The song spreads a
positive feeling and inspires us to do the best for our nation under any
crcumstance.
Thats probably why Kavi Pradeep said 'Is liye kahi yeh kahani'

Now there is no need to say this are great and inspiring lyrics.
Wonder what research Kavi Pradeep to unearth the fearless, courageous and
partiotic conduct of the heroes in this battle, which may military greats
beleive Forced China on the backfoot.forcing them to agree for a cease
fire. Story if a victory which many beleived to be a defeat.!

Thats why Pradeep said 'Jara yaad karo kurbani' so that we remember not to
give up iunder any circumsatances even if the equation is 1 against 10.

No doubt - the Independence day happens the sweetest memorable, to
patriotic citizens of any Nation. But it equally pains to assess where to
we are being taken, amidst the flood of corruption, crime and selfish
political - bureaucratic environment- overtaking all values once considered
rich by our ancestors !! It's a most melodious and value based song by Lata
Deedhi !! Happy Independence day to everybody ! Jai Hind !!

Aye mere Watan ke logon, Zara aankh me bhar lo paani. Jo shaheed huye hain
unaki, Zjara yaad karo kurbaani. It was written by Kavi Pradeep and
composed by C. Ramchandra. In backdrop of Indo-China war in 1962. Hats off
to Lata Mangheshkar. Heart touching and expresses love and care and salute
to the soldiers who lost their lives fighting for their Motherland
